I have finally made it to Grundy, VA. The mountains are gorgeous....but there is almost nothing in this town. Thinking about going out and getting something to eat...its either mcdonalds or wendys. blah. :(
Then hopefully Mal will be here.

Avoiding Packing
So in attempts to avoid packing I have now watched a ton of TV. I really do need to pack because I have to leave at noon today. My first location is a town called Grundy, VA. The drive from Fredericksburg should take about 6 and half hours. Who knew that you could leave Fredericksburg (which is pretty centrally located in the state) and still be in Virginia 6 and half hours later? I just found this out the second week of August when I learned that I would be going to Grundy.
This is my first week out on the road this season. I really need to get back into the groove of things. Like not over packing, keeping certain items packed so I don't need to repack every weekend, and getting used to the rental car.
The rental car is a topic of its own. Normally I get a pretty decent car....NOT this year I am driving a tiny KIA Rio. It's smaller then my old Ford Focus and I wasn't entirely sure that was possible. Hopefully after my first week out on the road I will be able to switch it for something slightly bigger with power locks and windows. (I didn't even know they still made cars without power windows and locks)
Oh, well. Anyways I have to start the process of packing. Hopefully when I get to Grundy tonight I might be able to take some pictures of the area and will post again. Wish me luck on this long drive and if you want to call me to help me pass the time that would be great! :)
